Out of True Blog Tour: Blog tour schedule and GIVEAWAYS!

15 October 2012 by 34 Comments

ZOMG YOU GUYS! (How was my Amy impression there? Pretty good, eh?) This week is a very special week at IB. This week, we are hosting and promoting a blog tour featuring Out of True, a collection of poetry by our very own Amy. Also, we are giving away copies of the book. GIVING AWAY. Like FOR FREE. Stay tuned to find out how you can enter to win a copy of Amy’s poetry.

Here’s a preview for the schedule this week. If you miss any posts, I’ll be linking them up in the sidebar under a smaller version of the blog tour graphic! I’ll also be tweeting and Facebooking them during the week; follow us on Twitter here and on Facebook here if you want to get the latest IB news!

Monday: Interview with Amy right here at IB + the first giveaway
Tuesday: Our own Mandy (@borkadventures) takes Amy’s poetry into the real world with a post in her Inspired Adventures series!
Wednesday: Andreas (@heinakroon) and Meg (sj’s other half at Snobbery, @megiggleston) have illustrated poems that they dig from the collection.
Thursday: A guest post from Amy at Heather’s blog (@Between_Covers) about Margaret Atwood, one of Amy’s inspirations!
Friday: If the tech gods are willing, Lori at @TNBBC (whose laptop died this week–we’re rooting for you and your laptop, Lori!) will have an audio clip of Amy reading my favorite poem from the collection. Yes, she used my favorite poem on purpose because Amy is the BESTEST. Lori will also be hosting our second giveaway unless her technology fails her–if so, I’ll just pick an extra winner from here. ;)
Saturday: Serena (@savvyversewit) will have a VIDEO of Amy reading an exclusive, never-before-read poem that is not in the collection. This is super-special blog tour content, you guys. Serena is also hosting a giveaway for our third paper copy of the book, so you will definitely want to hop over there to enter.

You might notice there are no reviews in the tour! Mostly, this is because I work so closely with Amy, and felt weird asking for reviews since she writes here and we’re hosting the tour. If you’d like to read a review, you can pop over to @KateSherrod ‘s blog here for a lovely, thoughtful review of Out of True. Our own Laura also posted her thoughts about the collection here.

So. The giveaways.

I have three paper copies total of Out of True. One paper copy will be given away on this blog, one will be given away at TNBBC, and one will be given away at Savvy Verse & Wit. Make sure you watch the sidebar or our social media to see when those giveaways pop up! I’m also going to give away two digital copies of Out of True for e-reader-having people! (It comes in ePub, MOBI, and pdf, so you’ll have a copy for any e-reader.) Don’t worry, Luna Station Press–I am not pirating these copies, I am purchasing them because I love our followers so very much.

I’m trying out the Rafflecopter giveaway system for the first time at IB; please use the interface at the end of the post to enter the giveaways. If for some reason this goes spectacularly wrong, I will fix it before the time is up. The giveaway ends Monday, October 22 at 11:59 pm (technically Tuesday at 12:01 am, but if you’re like me, it doesn’t matter if it’s after midnight–if you haven’t slept yet, it’s still Monday, dammit). Lori and Serena will have their own systems and time frames for their own giveaways.

Stay tuned later for an interview with Amy! Yay!

  1. Yay! A giveaway! How exciting. And Amy’s poetry makes it even MORE exciting! I’m looking forward to the week ahead.

Dear Rafflecopter, please pick me. I have a helipad on my roof just for you! Land here!

  2. I’m totally cool with an ebook. Rafflecopter is surprisingly easy – I just “ended” my first Rafflecopter giveaway (I still have four going on over on my blog – it’s madness this month, madness I say!) and it selects your winners and everything (but you have to ask it to, of course – the link says “add winners” and if you click it *bing* it selects one randomly). I believe I’ll be sticking with it – I hope you also have a smooth interaction and enjoy using it. It’s certainly better than asking my followers to leave an email address in the comments :-)

    • Four giveaways?! The horror! I can usually barely keep one straight :D

I probably should have done a separate one for the ebook, but I figure I’ll pick one random winner and do the rest through comments, since people have to leave some mode of contact in order to comment. Still learning :D

      • Well, in interests of fair disclosure, two of them I’m only hosting – someone else is doing all the work… :-) I normally only run one every two weeks, but for some reason October just went crazy and they all attacked me at once… :-)

  3. Purchasing books online CONFUSES ME UNACCOUNTABLY, especially from the Americas. So this would allow me to cross “buy Amy’s book” off of my to-do list without all the mental strain. And I look forward to the book blog tour!

  4. This is very, very cool. I already have a copy of Amy’s book that I’m still digesting, so a week of coverage will deepen that even more for me. Wednesday and Thursday sound spectacularly up my alley. Can’t wait!

  5. Oooh… I bought an ecopy already, but I am such a bookslut, that I would die for a paper copy that I could write in and stuff because taking digital notes isn’t the same.

In fact, if I don’t win a paper copy, I’ll probably buy one, so maybe it’s better for Amy if I don’t win, lol.

  6. Ahhhh exciting! Can’t wait to see what the week brings us! :) I definitely need more poetry in my life… Especially since my all-time fave poem is crafted from words that don’t exist in the dictionary (yay Jabberwocky!). >< So this week should be fun yay. :D

And yay chance to win Amy's book, yes please! I'm not sure if the ebook is available for me here though? Because I only have an ePub reader (my phone has a lot of ebooks hehehehe) and many ebooks aren't "available in your region" :(

    • I think there shouldn’t be a problem! I’d be buying directly from the press when I got the ebooks, I pay via Paypal and get them in my email.

  8. So, sj has been telling me I should really try to read Amy’s book of poems, and so here I am :D If at all possible, a paper copy would be amaze-balls, because my Kindle is broken, and it doesn’t look like I’ll be getting another one until I’ve finished reading all the physical books, so yeah…anyway, hope Amy gets a few new readers from this tour!
